Visa Restrictions:

This programme is available to students who:

1. Do not require a visa to study in Ireland
2. Students who have student visa for a full academic year (25 weeks)
3. Students who have a  working holiday visa

English Language Weeks:

1. For students who do not require a visa to study in Ireland: 4 weeks General English
2. For students who have a full academic year visa: 25 weeks General English or Exam Preparation Course
3. For students who have a working holidays visa: 4 weeks General English

Internship Weeks: 12 weeks (longer programmes available upon request – subject to visa restrictions)

English Language Programme Hours Per Week: 20

Internship Hours Per Week: Most internship positions are full-time, however some positions are part-time and require the interns to work varying amounts of hours depending on the specific project that they are allocated.

Programme and Application Details:

Our English Language and Internship Programme allows you to assimilate in Ireland for a minimum of a month while studying with Enlish at Dublin City University. This gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with Dublin city and it’s friendly people. The English study section of the the programme ensures that you are confident to be able to function within a busy work environment during your Internship.

Choosing a Sector:

We work closely with a large number of established local, national and international businesses and have received excellent feedback on the programme from both Interns and companies alike. Students can choose to do their internship in various different sectors (subject to placement availiability). Due to high demand for the programme, not all sectors are available all the time. Students choose 3 sectors inwhich they would be happy to untake and internship. While every effort is made to ensure that the student is placed in a company within their primary sector choice, during busy periods students maybe placed with a company from their second or third choice sectors.

Minimum English Language Requirements:

A minimum of an B2 on the Common European Framework for Reference of Languages is required to apply for the programme. All placements are subject to specific prerequisites determined by the company providing the internship and minimum language levels may vary depending on the duties for which the intern is responsible for. All students will undergo language level testing prior to starting their internship to ensure that minimum requirements are met.

Booking:

Applications are required a MINIMUM OF 8 WEEKS prior to the commencement of the programme.

We will test the student when they arrive anyway so we can be flexible and it all depends on what level they are and how long they will study English with us before they start their internship. Please look at this website to see the test we use.www.oxfordenglishtesting.com
